Stark, whose 12:53 personal best, placed in the Top 10 at five of the six regular season meets including a first place finish at Bellville and third at both Shiner and Somerville. She placed third at District which qualified her for Regionals where she finished 27th. Stark was awarded THSCA Second Team Academic All District and TGCA Academic All District.
Almaguer finished 1st place in 5 of 11 meets. He was the District Champion running 16:11. He placed 9th at Regionals qualified for State as an individual and with his team. Gavin placed 17th at State running 16:17. He was awarded the CCCAT All Region Team, CCCAT All State Team, CCCAT Academic All State, and THSCA Academic Honorable Mention.
“Coach Ed” Marcinkiewicz was an Austin County resident who was very involved in the different county high schools. He also coached Track & Field at Texas A&M for almost 2 decades before moving to M-F Athletic.
Coach Ed was very well rounded from education to athletics to the arts. In honor of his legacy, the Coach Ed Scholarship Fund provides annual scholarships to a deserving senior from each of the three public high schools in Austin county (Bellville, Brazos and Sealy High School).
Ed was the epitome of the servant leader. He had friends everywhere he went and at every level of the sport. Ed was a coach, teacher, mentor, friend and leader. As such, he was privileged to be presented with numerous awards and recognitions.
